Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AoE4 Analyzer ("we", "us" or the "App") processes information when you use the mobile application, our website and related services.

1. Information we process

AoE4 Analyzer does not require your name, email address or a social login. The App creates an anonymous account and may process:

  • Account and device data: an anonymous user identifier, a protected device/install identifier, device platform, brand and model, operating-system and app version, language, country or region, time zone, installation source, whether the device is a real device or an emulator, its total memory, and when the app was installed and last updated on it.
  • Selected profile and game data: the public game profile you choose, public player identifiers, ratings, ranks, matches, participants, civilizations, maps and available match statistics.
  • Preferences: language, theme, notification choices and related app settings.
  • Notifications: a push token and records needed to send, troubleshoot and prevent duplicate match notifications.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports, performance traces and limited technical context needed to keep the service reliable. Request bodies, screenshots, authentication tokens and push tokens are excluded from our Sentry configuration.
  • Support messages: information you voluntarily include when contacting us.

We do not sell personal information and do not use your data for third-party advertising.

2. How we use information

We use this information to operate the anonymous account, sync the selected public profile, provide match history and statistics, remember settings, deliver requested notifications, secure and troubleshoot the service, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

3. Sources and service providers

  • Public game data provider: supplies public player, leaderboard and match data. The mobile App accesses this data through our backend services.
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivers optional push notifications.
  • Sentry: receives limited crash, error and performance diagnostics from the App and the website when configured.
  • Cloudflare: serves and protects the website and, through Cloudflare Web Analytics, counts page views without cookies.
  • Google Analytics 4: measures website usage, and only after you allow it (see section 6).
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers: process data only as needed to host the API, database, backups and operational services.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Data may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards.

4. Storage and retention

Account, device, preference and selected-profile links are kept while your anonymous account is active. Expired or revoked refresh-token records older than 30 days and completed notification records older than 90 days are routinely removed.

When you delete your account, account, device, protected device fingerprint, refresh token, selected-profile link and user-specific notification records are permanently deleted from the live service. Shared copies of public player and match data are not treated as account data and may remain in our common cache/database so the service does not repeatedly request the same public data. Encrypted backups rotate according to our backup-retention schedule and are not used to restore a deleted account except where required for disaster recovery or law.

One exception exists for fraud prevention. If your device has ever received free credits, we keep a separate one-way hash of the device identifier together with a counter of those grants. This value is derived with a different key than the device fingerprint stored with your account, contains no account data and cannot be used to identify you or to restore a deleted account; its only purpose is to stop the same device from claiming the same free credits again after a reinstall. It is removed after 12 months without a new grant.

5. Your choices and rights

You can disable notifications in the App or operating-system settings. You can permanently delete the anonymous account from Settings → Delete Account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

For an account-related request, contact info@aoe4analyzer.app. We may need limited information to locate the anonymous account and verify the request.

6. Website and cookies

Our website works without an account and sets no cookies of its own. It uses three services:

  • Google Analytics 4: measures which pages are visited, how visitors arrive and where they leave. Analytics cookies and any device identifiers are set only after you allow measurement in the consent banner. Until then Google Consent Mode keeps analytics_storage denied, so no analytics cookie is written. Advertising signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) stay denied at all times and we run no advertising. Your choice is stored locally in your browser and you can change it by clearing your browser's site data for our domain.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: counts page views and load performance. It sets no cookies, reads no browser storage and builds no cross-site profile, so it needs no consent and runs whatever you choose above. It is our fallback measurement: Google Analytics is blocked for many visitors, and without this we would be blind to them.
  • Sentry: records errors that occur while a page renders, so we can fix broken pages. Reports are sent through our own domain and contain technical context only — no request bodies and no personal identifiers.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards such as encrypted transport, protected credentials, restricted access and token redaction. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children below the minimum age at which they may consent to digital services in their country. We do not knowingly request a child's name, email address or other direct contact information.

9. Third-party game data and links

Public game data may originate from third-party data providers, and some screens may open external profile or source pages. Their privacy practices are outside our control.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the App or legal requirements change. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when required.
