a scout up for military use, a counter to Byzantine are Mangos to deal with their , springalds need the scout's vision to snipe.
Use longbows around resources to get vision if you dont have or up.
You want to make on Berrybush if they are facing your enemy. Make on the Gold if no forward Berrybush.

Wood and and connect s10730141030Gold at 18-21 Food to prepare for age up, then adjust as needed!(+1 and +2 ranged upgrades are insanely important, your longbows are basically crossbows for dealing with anything living and mechanical, with good splits during fights, you can whittle down mangonels too very quickly)
Consider your timings. You can make a lot of units in castle and push, but when you approach 200/200 it is time for imperial.
Another timing is your age upgrade that makes them do serious damage again vs age 3 opponent.
Varangian age 4 upgrade is also insane.
In higher ranked games, it's typically over in under 20 min. Generally you should have 2 production buildings at near the
same time you finish age up and be making army non stop. Transition to castle with a purpose, because you are at a disadvantage in early castle if you don't have the resources to use it.
Also never float resources, keep everything under 300 when not planning to use those resources immediately!
